Representatives from SRCE, Deputy Director Dobriša Dobrenić and Head of the Advanced Computing Department Emir Imamagić, are participating in the EGI 2024 conference, where they presented the ecosystem SRCE provides to the Croatian scientific community. This ecosystem consists of a suite of services that assist researchers and scientists with data planning, collection, processing, analysis, storage, sharing, and reuse.
The presentation highlighted computing services such as Advanced Computing and VDC - Virtual Data Centers, with a focus on introducing the "Supek" supercomputer, advanced computing resources "Vrančić," and a range of specialized platforms like Galaxy, Jupyter, and the computing cluster Padobran.
Another major part of SRCE’s ecosystem includes data services - Puh for data storage and sharing during research, and Dabar for establishing digital academic archives and repositories for long-term data storage and open-access sharing. The Advanced Computing service provides users with simplified access to Puh and Dabar services.
Finally, tying these services together is the Croatian Science Information System - CroRIS, which contains reliable information about institutions, researchers, projects, publications, and equipment. Using CroRIS, the application for accessing the Advanced Computing service enables transparent reporting on the use of valuable computing resources and easy linkage to results achieved through the service.
The EGI 2024 conference takes place from September 30 to October 4, 2024, in Lecce, Italy, bringing together numerous representatives of international scientific communities, computing service and infrastructure providers, EU-funded project representatives, cybersecurity experts, and policy experts in the field of large distributed e-infrastructures.
